Dumaluan's antics backfire!

A well-orchestrated press conference at the Dumaluan Beach Resort supposedly to trumpet the turn-around of a witness in the celebrated Vivian Dumaluan rape-murder case turned up more questions than answers.

This developed as two government officials confirmed that the sworn statement supposedly given by a witness under duress was made in their presence and not in a Cebu resort as alleged.

Guv stands by Ingking

As Provincial Police Director Edgardo Ingking continues to gather dissension in his aggressive campaign against all forms of illegal activities and indiscriminate implementation of the laws, Governor Erico Aumentado categorically dismissed the howls as baseless.

On the implied call of some mayors for the riddance of Ingking, Aumentado clarified that so far, no petition had been formally filed calling for the relief of the provincial police chief.

Napolcom 7 finds 5 cops
guilty of grave misconduct

FIVE policemen were found guilty of grave misconduct while another was exonerated by the National Police Commission Region 7 office.

Named guilty in the administrative case and to suffer 60 days of suspension were P/Chief Inspector Daniel Sales of the Cebu Provincial Police Office, former chief of police of Inabanga town and PO3s Hermenigildo Abella, Pablito Panis and Roberto Vistal and PO2 Edwin Melicor all of the Inabanga Police Station. Exonerated from the same administrative case was SPO2 Desiderio Baldisco formerly of the Inabanga police but now assigned in Corella, Bohol.

Taken for a ride

  Journalists are supposed to be wise to the ways of the world, the reason why they are among the most cynical and skeptical of the lot. That does not mean however that they cannot be taken for a ride.

It seems that was the case for about 20 reporters from various media outlets who were invited to a press conference at the Dumaluan Beach Resort on the same day Sen. Antonio Trillanes and Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim walked out of their court hearing all the way to the Manila Peninsula.
